The clubs newest member recently started this layout, it’s main feature will be a coal mining area hence the name Norton Hill Coal Mine. So here are some photos taken of the initial stages showing the first trackwork and layout planning.
The layout consists of a double track around the perimeter and inside this there will be storage roads for locos and carriages plus a small goods yard. At the moment nothing has been decided for definite so the buildings and track have just been placed provisionally.
The main feature of the layout will be the coal mining area and here we see the first part which includes Pit Head Winding Gear that was kindly produced by a friend and fellow club member who is an expert at making such things on his Laser Cutter.
